Price Transparency

At PenguinDCP, we pride ourselves on being completely transparent with our prices. To price a DCP, we add the cost of encoding, media, and shipping. Encoding is priced according to resolution. For example, at 2K (which is the standard commonly used for films finished in 1080p), our prices start at $4.75 per minute. The DCP must also be placed on to a media drive. For quality control reasons we do not accept drives from filmmakers. The drives we use have been selected by our technical department for their durability and quality. See below for a detailed description of drive types. Finally, we calculate shipping for your drive. Shipping costs $10 to the continental USA for non-rush flash drives, and can cost extra for rush shipping or larger media.

The Fine Print:

24-hour orders must be in before 2:00pm. We have minimum prices based on turnaround and resolution—see below. Days are counted as business days (Monday through Friday). Rush orders may incur a rush fee in addition to rush shipping. Weekend deadlines may incur an extra fee. Orders from California are subject to taxation.
